Major Research Focus:
The MRSA KnowledgeCenter at the dDepartment of Clinical Microbiology, Hvidovre Hospital has been established to control MRSA in the Capital Region of Denmark. Our research has a practical approach looking at staphylococcal evolution, epidemiology, typing, carriage, characteristics of patients’ illnesses and outcomes, infection-control and eradication therapies with the goal of keeping MRSA out of hospitals. Current typing methods have been replaced by whole genome sequencing of microorgansims and research areas now also include all staphylococcal species, multiresistant enterococci and multiresistant enterobacteriaceae.
