Current research
PhD-project: "Ocular comorbidity in Atopic Dermatitis"
In this project we explore and characterise the eye manifestations to Atopic Dermatitis, here among atopic keratoconjunctivitis (AKC), which is a potential sigh-threatening disease. We aim identify potential risk factors for developing AKC and hope to increase the diagnostic specificity through a broad knowledge of the phenotypic presentation. To reveal some of the pathomechanisms behind, we investigate the conjunctival goblet cells. Hereby, a better understanding of the disease will make it possible for earlier treatment initiation, and thus lower the risk of severe complications with vision loss and blindness.
