Well-controlled asthma during pregnancy reduces the risk of for exacerbations and, consequently, the risk of adverse pregnancy outcome. Pharmacological therapy for pregnant women with asthma is a challenge, not least due to suboptimal adherence with controller therapy and pregnant women's concerns about harmful effects of medication on the fetus.
